Peter G. Thomas

Peter G. ThomasPeter G. Thomas is a founding principal of Vestar Development Co. and served as its Chief Financial Officer for over 22 years. His responsibilities included debt and equity capital formation, projects sales, and tax and strategic planning. Peter financed over 50 projects with combined financings in excess of $2.6 Billion during his tenure. Previously, Peter was the Controller at Estes Development Co., which became Vestar in 1989 as part of a management led buyout. Peter was instrumental in closing this $100 Million transaction.

Prior to joining Estes Development Co., Peter spent five years with KPMG performing audit, tax, and consulting services on behalf of its real estate clients. Peter graduated from Boston College, Carroll School of Management Honors Program (Magna Cum Laude) with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, and has served as Chairman of the Commercial Retail Council for the Urban Land Institute. Peter has dedicated his civic and charitable efforts to empower children and the homeless.


Sandi Young

Sandi YoungSandi Young works hands on with several non-profits from a community level to an international level.  She actively supports over 30 groups, and indirectly supports dozens of others.  It’s her objective to provide change for those who need it and make a difference in the world.

Sandi steps into Soul Sanctuary with a strong desire to help underserved veterans cope with and break the cycles of dysfunction from PTSD.




Missy Anderson

Missy Anderson

Missy was born and raised in the Valley. She was blessed to have parents who role-modeled for her the value of giving back to the community.

Her parents were involved in many charities and integral
in the early development of downtown Scottsdale and the Main Street Merchants.

Missy and her family have
had a business on Main Street consecutively for over 48 years.

Missy’s careers have ranged from sales and marketing to taking over her father’s art business. She was fortunate
to work with her father for many years in the galleries in Scottsdale and Santa Fe. Missy sold her business in 1998 when she and Lyle married. She has since worked with Lyle on the interior design and aesthetics of his developments and club houses. Missy is the Director of Design for the Lyle Anderson Companies and their new development, Sierra Reserve. Missy has been active in our community for over 20 years. She has been involved with Florence Crittenton, Childhelp USA, Soul Sanctuary in the Desert, Arizona Foundation for Women and Trends Charitable Fund. Missy has served on the Boards and Chaired major fundraising events. She has also been involved with Heartball, United Way, Fight Night, ASU and Scottsdale Christian Academy.

Missy and Lyle are blessed to have four children and six grandchildren and she keeps busy with family, tennis and golf. Missy truly believes the greatest gift is giving back to others.


Jennifer Evans

Jennifer Evan

Jennifer Evans is a global citizen who travels the world spreading peace and understanding through hearing care. As Manager of International Programs for Starkey Hearing Foundation, Jennifer develops and manages community-based hearing healthcare programs in 40 countries throughout Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Paci c. Jennifer spends the majority

of her time in the eld training global partners and teams of community-based healthcare workers.

Born and raised in Arizona, Ms. Evans has maintained a well- established track record of giving back to the community and encompasses the spirit of Soul Sanctuary with her passion and dedication to serving humanity.

Jennifer served as President of the Board for Soul Sanctuary in the Desert 2011-2012, Vice President of Charities for the Valley
of the Sun Active 20-30 Club 2009-2010 and Vice President of Valley Kids Foundation 2010-2011. Jennifer attended Arizona State University and graduated in 2006 from the Walker Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications.


Gillian Benowich

GillianFor more than twelve years, Gillian has worked in the TV/Video production industry in the Phoenix metro and regional markets. She extended her management, marketing, production knowledge and business background launching G Media in 2010. Gillian has been a television producer/ editor, production coordinator and director of operations for many prestigious media outlets. She’s worked as the associate producer at for Jobing TV, operations manager at a local Phoenix production company, and director of operations for College Mobile Deals. Gillian has also worked freelance opportunities for ESPN, and ABC News.

Gillian is a graduate of the prestigious Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a Bachelors of Arts in Broadcasting. She also holds an editing certi cation from Apple, Inc as an Apple Certi ed Pro Editor in Final Cut Pro. As part of her entrepreneurial spirit in business, Gillian has served on many business organizations and been a speaker on “organization/life e ciency” topics. She has worked with clients on organizing their day-to-day business needs and helping to create business practices internally. Gillian not only brings an extensive media background but necessary business skills for growing a successful business in the digital age.


Josette Sullins

Josette SullivanJosette Sullins is the founder
of Soul Sanctuary in the Desert and also the CEO/Founder of go dehp® currently highlighted at the prestigious Royal
Palms Resort’s Alvadora Spa. Josette’s dehp® program was featured on local, national and international (Fox) television, as well as in regional and national print media. As an at-risk child herself, Josette felt compelled to serve people who could benefit 
from the healing process 
she discovered and refined. Consequently, she founded Soul Sanctuary in the Desert as a shelter for at-risk women and children in 2004. The program partners with several other community organizations such as Drug Court, Child Protective Services, Community Bridges, NCADD, and several local churches and businesses.

 for Women’s Sandra Day O’Conner Award luncheon for then Governor Janet Napolitano. Josette co-wrote and co-produced an all green documentary on human development called “Nature’s Organic Gift”.
